 Water Proof Plywood

Waterproof plywood is a type of plywood that is treated with a waterproof sealant or coating to make it resistant to water damage. This type of plywood is commonly used in outdoor structures such as decks, sheds, and gazebos, as well as in areas that are frequently exposed to water, such as bathrooms and kitchens. However, it is important to note that even waterproof plywood is not completely immune to water damage and regular maintenance and inspections are still necessary.

Types of Waterproof Plywood

There are several types of waterproof plywood available on the market:

  1. Marine plywood: This type of plywood is made from high-quality wood and is specifically designed for use in marine environments. It is extremely durable and resistant to water damage, making it ideal for use in boats and other watercraft.

  2. Pressure-treated plywood: This type of plywood is treated with chemicals that make it resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage. It is commonly used in outdoor structures such as decks and sheds.

  3. Exterior grade plywood: This type of plywood is made from woods that are naturally resistant to rot and decay, such as cedar or redwood. It is also treated with a waterproof sealant to make it even more resistant to water damage.

  4. Phenolic film-faced plywood: This is a type of shuttering plywood or concrete form work plywood. Its surface is coated with phenolic film to make it resistant to water and abrasion.

  5. Waterproof composite plywood: This type of plywood is made from a combination of wood and plastic, with the plastic layer providing added waterproofing protection.
